Mr Gautam Banerjee

Senior Managing Director & Chairman, Blackstone Singapore

Gautam Banerjee is a Senior Managing Director and co-Chairman of the Asia Operating Committee based in Singapore. He is also Chairman of Blackstone Singapore and a member of the International Advisory Board.

Previously, Mr. Banerjee served as Executive Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Singapore for nine years until his retirement in December 2012. He spent over 30 years with the firm in various leadership roles in Singapore, India and East Asia.

Mr Banerjee is an independent director on the Board of Singapore Airlines Limited, Piramal Enterprises Limited, The Indian Hotels Company Limited and GIC Private Limited. He is a Vice-Chairman of the Singapore Business Federation and his roles in the not-for-profit sector include serving on the Governing Board of Yale-NUS College and the Legal Service Commission of Singapore.

Mr. Banerjee is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA). He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree from Warwick University in 1977 and was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) by the same university in 2014. Mr. Banerjee was a Nominated Member of Parliament in Singapore from 2007 to 2009 and was awarded the Public Service Medal by the Singapore Government in 2014.

Ms Tan Li San

CEO, National Council of Social Service

Ms Tan Li San joined the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) on 6 January 2020 as CEO-Designate, and took over as Chief Executive Officer on 1 June 2020.

Prior to this, Ms Tan has held various positions in the Singapore government including roles in the Ministry of Communications and Information, Ministry of Manpower, Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore, Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Ministry of Finance, Public Service Division, and the Civil Service College.

She was a member of the Social Service Sector Strategic Thrusts (4ST) Steering Committee, and served on the boards of several Social Service Agencies before joining NCSS.

Theresa Sim is an Assurance Partner, Chief Financial Controller, Business Transformation Leader and a member of the Leadership Team of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Singapore.

Ms Sim has more than 20 years of professional experience in providing audit and related advisory services including due diligence for purposes of mergers / acquisitions and other consulting work. Her clientele base covers a wide spectrum of industries which includes property development and management, retail, oil and gas, manufacturing and trading; cutting across SGX listed, government-linked and multinational companies.

Through servicing a diversified client base, she has accumulated in-depth knowledge of group audit coordination and reporting requirements in various GAAPs and can value-add in areas of financial, governance, controls and risk management.

She is presently also the Executive Committee Member / Honorary Treasurer of the Singapore Children’s Society and Board Member of Wildlife Reserves Singapore Conservation Fund.

Mr Greg Unsworth

Greg has been based in Singapore for more than 16 years and has more than 30 years of international experience with PwC. Greg is PwC’s digital business leader and leads the Risk Assurance practice in Singapore. He has also previously served as PwC’s technology industry leader for the Asia Pacific region. Greg is a member of our firm’s leadership team and has extensive experience providing professional services to companies globally, having also previously worked in our London, Sydney and Tokyo offices.

Greg has extensive experience providing audit and advisory services to various clients, particularly in the technology, media and telecom sectors and has specialised in serving these sectors for more than 20 years. Greg also has extensive experience with IFRS, US GAAP and other international reporting frameworks. Greg works regularly with PwC’s global specialists on trends and developments related to digital technologies and has previously served on the Technologies and Research & Development sub-committee for the Singapore Government’s 2025 Infocomm Media Masterplan.

Mr John Tang

Managing Director, GIC Pte Ltd

John Tang is a Managing Director at GIC’s private equity group. GIC is the fund manager for the foreign reserves of Singapore, which manages in excess of US$100 billion. In his 19 years at GIC, John has invested in private equity and venture capital funds and companies around the world, especially US and China.

John currently heads the global CIO’s Office for private equity and infrastructure investments and has been an investment committee member for more than 10 years. He also co-chairs GIC’s Technology Business Group. Prior, John was Head of the US Funds and Co-Investment Group based out of New York, and Head of Global Venture Capital based in Silicon Valley.

Starting his career as a system’s engineer at IBM, John joined strategy firm Bain & Company after graduating from Harvard Business School in 1996. He graduated from Imperial College UK with a BEng (First Class Hons) and MSc in Computing.

John is Singaporean and currently serves on the NTU (Nanyang Technological University) Endowment Investment Committee, and is a board member of RaiSE, the sector developer for social enterprise in Singapore. He also serves as a selection panel member for the World Economic Forum Tech Pioneers Program.

Killick Datta, founded and heads up GBP, a global fashion and retail brand company, invited here originally by Singapore’s EDB. He has launched the performance footwear and apparel collection under the brand Beachbody, the world’s largest fitness and health brand. He is also the Managing Partner of Universify Pte. Ltd. one of the world’s largest celebrity brand management companies.

Previously based in the United States, Killick was head of Nike’s International Business Development, President of LA Gear, Wolverine Worldwide Intl. (Hush Puppies, Sperry, Sebago, Merrell, etc.) , Brooks Sports, Skechers Inc., and CEO of Global Brand Marketing (Diesel, Nautica, Sean John, Pony, 7 for all mankind, etc.). He is also a Managing Partner of Universify , a global agency devoted to developing several celebrity and other brands such as Jennifer Lopez.

Killick is currently an Industry Advisor (ITAC) for Apparel, Footwear, and Bags to the U.S. Department of Commerce and serves on the Board of several major trade industry associations such as the American Apparel and Footwear Association, World Federation Sporting Goods Industry, and U.S. Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association. He went to school in Oxford and he holds a BSc in Chemistry & Biochemistry from University College, and an MBA from Durham University Business School, all based in the United Kingdom.

Mr Lien Choong Luen

General Manager, GOJEK Singapore

Mr Lien Choong Luen is helping to lead the international expansion for GOJEK as its Singapore GM. GOJEK started as a ride-hailing company but has now grown to provide services in more than 18 business verticals across 150 cities as South-East Asia’s Super App and is considered a “Decacorn”, with a strong purpose to enhance social mobility and enable entrepreneurship.

Prior to this, he spent several years at McKinsey and Co. working with major technology, healthcare and consumer companies across Greater China. Subsequently, as the South-East Asia head for the McKinsey Centre for Government, he served regional public sector clients; in particular, he worked with SPRING Singapore helping local SMEs accelerate their internationalisation, productivity and digitisation efforts. He maintained the focus on start-up innovation while at the Singapore National Research Foundation.

Mr Lien started his career in the Singapore Armed Forces as a Special Forces officer. He served in East Timor as a UN Peace-keeper and also trained with the US Rangers, US Marines and various South-East Asian Special Forces. In the SAF, he led units up to battalion size and is currently serving as a reservist officer.

Mr Lien studied mathematics in UC Berkeley and Cambridge University under the SAF Overseas Scholarship, and also graduated as the top student in Strategic and Defence Studies from the University of Malaya. He holds an MBA with Distinction from the London Business School.

He previously served as the President of the Berkeley club of Singapore and is currently on the committee for the Oxford and Cambridge Society of Singapore. A keen sportsman, he has summited Mount Everest and K2, skied to the North Pole, and run ultramarathons in the Amazon jungle and Gobi Desert, and served on the Singapore Sporting Culture Committee.

Mr Sin Boon Ann

Deputy Managing Director, Drew & Napier LLC

Sin Boon Ann is the Deputy Managing Director of Drew & Napier’s Corporate and Finance Department. He was called to the Bar in 1987. He spent some time in academia as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, before leaving in 1992 to join Drew & Napier. Mr Sin was made a partner in 1994 and became a director upon the corporatisation of Drew & Napier in 2001.

Mr Sin is an independent director in a number of listed companies in Singapore. He was a Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC for 15 years from 1996 to 2011. In recognition of his constant support and contributions to the Labour Movement, Mr Sin was conferred the NTUC May Day Award – “Friends of Labour Award” in 2003, and the “Meritorious Service Award” in 2013. In the same year, Mr Sin was also conferred the 2013 National Day Award – “The Pingat Bakti Masyarakat (PBM)” by the President of Singapore for his services to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Mr Sin was a member of the Company Legislation and Regulatory Framework Committee (CLRFC) appointed by the Ministry of Finance in 1999. The CLRFC was tasked to “undertake a comprehensive and coherent review of our company law and regulatory framework and recommend a modern company law and regulatory framework for Singapore which accords with global standards and which will promote a competitive economy”. The CLRFC presented its final report to the Singapore government in October 2002.

Mr Sin is appointed Chairman of the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Review) on 1 March 2014. He was formerly a member of the Criminal Law Advisory Committee (Hearing) from 1 June 1990 to 28 February 2014.

Dr Tan See Leng

CEO, IHH Healthcare

Dr Tan See Leng is Managing Director and CEO of IHH Healthcare Berhad since January 2014 and is an Executive Director since 2012. He provides strategic direction and leadership for overall operations within IHH Healthcare (IHH) and its various subsidiaries. Dr Tan joined Parkway in 2004 as Chief Operating Officer of Mount Elizabeth Hospital and rose rapidly through the ranks. Under his stewardship, IHH has grown its footprint to 83 hospitals in 12 countries worldwide.

Dr Tan has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. At the age of 27, he founded a private primary healthcare group and subsequently developed it to the second largest primary healthcare group in Singapore before successfully selling the company to one of the leading global health-plan providers. Over the years, he has held numerous ministerial advisory and medical committee appointments and has served on the Singapore Ministry of Health’s MediShield Life Review Committee.

A passionate supporter of improving healthcare provision through innovations and private-public collaboration, Dr Tan has guest lectured at the Harvard Business School’s healthcare management seminar series. He also provided advisory inputs as an expert panel member for Department of Health, National Health Services (UK). Dr Tan maintains active involvement in academia through board memberships and appointments such as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School Singapore, Office of Education and Advisory Board of Lee Kong Chian School of Business at Singapore Management University.

On the business front, he regularly represents regional business leadership on International and Regional Business Councils. Dr Tan was named Asia Innovator of the Year at the 14th CNBC Asia Business Leaders Awards (ABLA) 2015 and Best Executive in Malaysia at the 2016 Asiamoney Best Managed Companies Awards. In 2017, he won the ABLA Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
